VARIANTS & VACCINES

The Covid-19 vaccines have been effective against the Delta Variant of the coronavirus disease, however, there are many people who are still unvaccinated or refuse to vaccinate. 

The Delta variant is the dominant strain in the U.S. but it is not the only variant which is circulating in the population. The Lambda variant which was first identified in Peru is now also found in several states in the U.S. The Lambda variant is one of the earliest identified variants which has high transmissibility and resistance. The military personnel are receiving CVD vaccination & the government is also encouraging the troops to get vaccinated to the maximum degree. Some U.S. army bases may require Vaccination Proof.

The Use of Force!

The media are discussing whether police should use or not use force when dealing with wrong doers. According to Wikipedia "the use of force doctrines can be employed by law enforcement officers and military personnel on guard duty and it can be defined as the amount of effort required by the police to compel compliance by an unwilling subject. However, a wrong doer is now dead as a result of use of force by police who put his knee across the neck of a hand cuffed wrong doer which led to his positional asphyxia and death.  

It's not easy to talk about these kind of issues which have social implications but the police should remember that they are in the position of power when dealing with wrong doers and they should avoid unnecessary force which may lead to the death of the wrong doer>.

                                                         

                                                        

After A Long Time...

I am in Baton Rouge right now visiting my son and his wife after a long time of being absent and living in Phoenix-AZ with my daughter. She was also here with us for three days but she had to go back home where she lives and works as well.

It's raining here today and it feels good to be at home, writing and watching the rain. I also feel grateful that I am healthy and I can still travel, meet life in different settings and enjoy visiting those I love. Everything here is green, fresh and full of life with calmness in the background contributing to my joy.

So much has happened in the political arena in the U.S. and we are now at "Trump era" who is the most incapable person on the job and people are asking how did we end up with Trump. He could be impeached for all his wrong doings and incompetence. It is even said that he created a mob to kill his vice president and therefore he is "The Inciter In Chief". In fact his appointee was arrested on Capitol riot charges. Right now 3/8/21 he is no more in charge and is just a private citizen. The president at this time is Joe Biden who seems to be popular and effective.

Some of the features of this era include wearing masks to protect ourselves from the Coronavirus Disease or Covid-19 which is a respiratory disease and can be transferred by air, touch, and God knows what else! The CDC is recommending vaccination and double masking with tighter fit for better protection. At this time the U.S. has recorded more than 470,000 deaths from the Coronavirus Disease and the global death counts are more than 2,371,878 as well.
